Dortmund Dominate to Reach Champions League Semi-Finals

Sensational Second Half Sends BVB Through

Dortmund's dominant performance in the second half secured them a thrilling 4-2 victory against Atlético Madrid, booking their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 11 years.

Borussia Dortmund came into the match needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Madrid. Despite a slow start, they exploded into life after the break, scoring four goals in the space of 20 minutes. Julian Brandt opened the scoring with a stunning volley, before Marco Reus doubled the lead with a clinical finish. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens then made it 3-0 with a superb solo effort, followed by Karim Adeyemi's fourth goal just minutes later.

Atlético Madrid managed to pull two goals back through Ángel Correa and Axel Witsel, but it was too little too late as Dortmund held on to secure a famous victory. The German side have now reached the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 2013, and will be hoping to go all the way this year.
